This is not your typical flake soil. It is composted horse manure, wood shavings, and hay. No smell of manure since it is broken down. So far the species mentioned below have been grown wonderfully on it without any issues.
**Tested on Dicronorhina derbyana, Mecynorrhina torquata ugandensis, and Xylotrupes pachycera with good results!
**How to use:Once receiving your substrate, pour the substrate into a wide container and aerate it by mixing it around everyday for 1-3 days .The substrate should smell earthy before use. Failure to do this step may cause your larvae to suffocate and potentially die. We try to adjust the humidity of the substrate before putting them in bags; however, if the substrate is dry, please add water accordingly.
